SAQ Annual General Meeting – 5th August 2019

We would like to thank all of our guest presenters and the members who attended our Annual General Meeting for 2019. I think all attendees will agree that the presentations were informative, interesting and really relevant and on topic in our industry.

This year’s AGM featured an Exhibition and Networking hour which was a great success!

Many thanks to our exhibitors for taking the time to join us and set up their booths for this event, here’s our exhibitor list if you’d like more information on their products and services:

Here’s an overview of what was discussed and presented at this General Meeting:

Urbis Property Insights – Ben Slack, Regional Director, Urbis

Ben Slack joined us as our Special Guest Speaker and gave a fantastic presentation on the current economic outlook, the political overlay, and city changing developments including all of the major commercial and infrastructure projects currently underway or coming soon to SE Qld.

PlanGrid Construction Software – Jeremy Banks, Account Executive, Autodesk

Jeremy Banks took us through the PlanGrid platform that is transforming construction with mobile productivity software. PlanGrid is simple,  powerful construction software that contractors, subs, and owners love to use. As a user, you can access all project information from wherever you are, from plans and specifications to punch lists, documents and photos.

Work Injury Free – Paul Trevethan, Body Leadership Australia

Paul from Body Leadership Australia has recently joined the Scaffolding Association Queensland as an Associate Member and has been working closely with one of our Full Member scaffolding companies to create a “Work Injury Free” program specifically designed for scaffolders. Paul took us through how you’re body behaves over your lifetime and how to link into that system so that you can guide and manage your body to decrease the risk of injury for yourself. And as most of our members are managing teams, if you can understand your own body at a higher level than you can start to relay this information to your crews well. Paul helps scaffolding work injury-free and stay pain-free through easy to use online injury prevention programs.

HAKI Company and Values, Mick Allen, Technical Sales Representative, HAKI

Mick Allen represents HAKI in Australia and joined us today to take us through Haki’s core values, vision, mission, and strategic pillars. Haki is forming local partnerships with scaffolding companies in Australia, if you would like more information on this please contact Mick Allen here.
